西山裕也を中心に結成した東京出身のポストパンクバンド。

エッジの効いたギターとミニマルに反復するリズム、冷ややかな空気感を基調とし、切迫したボーカルと日本語詞によって感情の強度を前面に押し出す。

抑制と衝動が交錯するサウンドの中で、都市的な孤独や内面の緊張を描き出すその音楽性は、ポストパンクの美学を踏まえつつオルタナティブロックのダイナミズムも内包する。

2024年、ペルメージレコードよりEP「Psychopath Killer」を発表。

碑文谷APIA40を中心に活動し、日本語ロックの新たな表現を探求し続けている。

COCTEAU CALINES is a Tokyo-based post-punk band formed around bassist and vocalist Yuya Nishiyama.

Built on edgy guitars, minimal and repetitive rhythms, and a cold, detached atmosphere, their sound is driven by urgent Japanese vocals that bring emotional intensity to the forefront.

Within a sonic framework where restraint and impulse intersect, their music portrays urban isolation and inner tension, while incorporating the dynamism of alternative rock within a post-punk aesthetic.

In 2024, they released their EP “Psychopath Killer” via Pelmage Records.

Based around live performances  in Tokyo, they continue to explore new expressions in Japanese-language rock.
